Despite everything, Márquez Duany doesn’t blame Trump. “There are probably too many people here,” he says. “I understand trying to get rid of those who shouldn’t be here. But Trump should look at each individual case.

“Like mine.”

because they were refugees from cuba, and scammed into thinking democratic socialism was the same thing as an authoritarian dictatorship calling itself communism under Castro…
(cue the tankies telling me Cubaa was paradise and people came over on rafts just because)

they’re victims of a scam, not the people you should be angry with… you should be angry with the grifters that scammed them.

Rule #1 of being an immigrant: Don’t support the anti-immigration politician.

How do people not know this. If you want to be selfish, at least try to look out for your self-interests. 🤦‍♂️

Like the vast majority of Cubans living in the U.S., he fully supports Trump. “If I could vote, I would have voted for Trump,” he says. “He’s the strongest president when it comes to Cuba.”

And as always, enjoy thoroughly the life you voted for. Don’t let the door hit ya where your good lord split ya.

Ok I live in Miami and based on some conversations, some Cubans love nothing more than being the victim. Everything is someone else’s fault. Cuban govt, other immigrants, the police, taxes, it has become a culture of victimhood. Obviously not all, but it is definitely a trend.

“If it wasn’t for [insert perceived thing] I would be a millionaire!”

I’m not surprised they like hearing from Trump that it is all someone’s fault.

Funny thing, I was talking about politics with my psychiatrist. I mentioned that I thought more than a third of the population have oppositional defiance disorder. She said that normally ODD is not diagnosed in adults, only children. I think maybe the definition should be expanded.

They should spit some dope lyrics about due process.

Maybe perform it for the flight crew as he leaves US airspace for the last time.
