A tariff on foreign products entering the US is paid by American consumers.
It’s to discourage Americans from buying foreign products and to pursue cheaper local options instead.
Except America hardly manufactures anything anymore.
I believe you, and I agree with you-- we need to do a better job consuming locally to help combat the effects of climate change.
I guess the downvotes are just a good lesson on taking the time to articulate our thoughts carefully, and learning when it benefits us to be succinct or to elaborate.
Responses from Reddit and now Lemmy have really helped me refine my communication skills. It’s all good learning. 🙂
