This needs to be higher up. Enough guys on the internet are going to be creeps that it’s something you need to look out for, but that risk gets even higher when they feel entitled to it by paying you for your time.
There are a couple of breadcrumbs in the post that hint that OP’s boyfriend might be a bit controlling, but nothing concrete. Personally, I wouldn’t feel comfortable dating someone that was actively talking to random guys on the internet for money. And OP’s post makes it seem like she keeps going back and forth on whether or not she’s okay with accepting money…
Not saying the guy is innocent, but OP also seems like a mess that needs to spend time to work on themselves before trying to date
To me business and economics sounds like the more flexible one, but that’s not always a good thing cause being less “specialized” can mean lower value, at least for some job positions…
Depends on what skills you’re leveraging. You mentioned knowing 3 different languages, which might be rare depending on where you live. You could possibly go into organizing imports and exports. I know someone who went into that with a bachelors in business
Not a community, but I recommend logicalincrements.com if you’re starting with a build. Pick a budget and it gives 3 different, balanced builds that match that budget. Use that as a starting point and modify from there
I thought Russia owned it
Whoever built that website really needs to fix the hitbox on the ‘X’ when you’re done reading the popups. Or instead of trying to show off with JavaScript they can just have a separate page like most websites
Doesn’t most of Element route through Matrix.org?
I like Jerboa because of how similar it is to RIF Is Fun
Not only that, there’s still laws to consider

Monthly active users are actually pretty stable over the last 2 years, while posts and comments are steadily rising. While monthly active user growth would be better, I don’t think we’re in a bad spot right now.
Granted, all of Lemmy should strive to figure out how to get more people on the platform so more niche interests can hit critical mass. My point is that things are currently stable so the sky isn’t falling
They already have a quiz on join-lemmy.org. they ask for interest and language, and filter instances based on that.
Granted the filtering could be better, as the top one recommended to me was sopulu.xyz. I like the Fins, but I can’t speak any of the language. I had to scroll down about 10 to get to lemmy.world
Asking for low barrier to the largest instances
And what defines a low barrier for entry? I just checked the sign-up process for Lemmy.world, and it’s just email > password > agree to ToS > complete a Recapcha. All on one page. How is that any different to any corporate social media site?
The big hassle for signing up for Lemmy is finding an instance that matches your preferences, but I don’t see how that’s possible to get around. The only thing I can think of is streamlining join-lemmy.org to better direct people to a fitting server.
I know I’m being combatative here, but the thing that bugs me people keep parrotting the same complaints of “there’s too much friction” when that problem has pretty much been fixed. Please focus on the currently existing problems instead
Unfortunately, nerdy =/= tech literate, and it’s mainly tech literate people here at the moment. While there’s likely a higher concentration of nerds here, many fringe interests still haven’t hit critical mass
What friction is there compared to besides picking an instance that works for the user?
Too often people say “There’s too much friction every step of the way” when it’s literally 1 extra step. That extra step might be a big pain itself, but don’t exaggerate and make it out like there’s more steps and pain than there really is
I personally like Jerboa, but I also used to use RIF is fun for Reddit which had a similar UI. I’m probably in the minority on preferences which is nothing new
Keep in mind that there’s 2 new justices that were instated by Trump during his first term and 4+ years have passed
Eh, there’s Horseshoe Theory at play there. While some people rail against the idea, I think they’re forgetting that political stances should mostly be modeled along 3 axes, not just the one. It’s just that the ‘average’ range of political stances tend to follow a horseshoe-shaped pattern within those 3 dimensions
I have a friend who laughs just like him when he gets going
