Meldrik@lemmy.wtfto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Convinced my organisation to use Mastodon and Bsky. Any userfull tools to automate crossposting?English2·14 days agoYou can selfhost it. The reason it’s expensive, is because of their AI stuff, I think.

Any userfull tools to automate crossposting?English1·14 days agoI haven’t had much experience with it myself. I shortly selfhosted it myself. I know it works for most social media, including Lemmy. Not sure about Mastodon and Blusky.

Meldrik@lemmy.wtfto Fediverse@lemmy.world•I totally missed the point when PeerTube got so goodEnglish3·29 days agoBest you can do is ask some of these content creators to also post their videos to PeerTube.
PeerTube has built-in syncing of YouTube channels, so it’s fairly easy once it’s set up.

You can even choose to have local AI, if you don’t want to use an external AI, which I believe is ChatGPT.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Hetzner has an office suite for Nextcloud?
What about private messages between users?

Youtube removed his content, saying that self hosting content is "dangerous or harmful content"English101·2 months agoYes, he says he’s dependent on the ad revenue. However, no one is asking for him to drop YouTube. Also posting on PeerTube will simply have him reach more viewers. It won’t move viewers away from YouTube.

He means self-hosting as in hosting his own PeerTube instance? Right??? 🙏

The storage providers set their own prices and the renters set how much they want to pay.
Just storing data is very cheap at $1.51/TB.
