  • I don’t think I do… what I explained was, Mastodon is too difficult not because of the interface, it’s because it’s too decentralized, to the point of everyone getting lost in the forest, and no one can find each other within the networks.

As for Bluesky, while it’s not the best or safest alternative, is way more convenient for networking—the raison d’être of a social network.

  • The problem here lies with the average consumer. The ones they barely know how to update their own phone, or get confused and panic whenever they see a popup they are not familiar with. The oblivious ones who are completely clueless about our vulnerability and dependance on those tools we now take for granted. The 60+ years old who rely on Facebook to connect with others, and who don’t even know alternatives exist.

You spent 2k on phones you degoogled yourself.

Congrats, this makes you part of the 0.01% of the population who doesn’t use anything Google.

What I’m saying is, 99% of my potential customers—actually, I’m pretty certain it’s 100%— use Google to find my business and my products.

If I try to cater only to the degoogled 0.01%, well, this becomes the equivalent of fishing in an empty pond. Very good for business.

So, please tell me, who’s the “fuckong” idiot here?
