Two of my friends have insomnia because of racing thoughts, which is just a totally alien concept to me. One mitigates it somewhat with meditation, but the way he describes it seems like my natural state of being lol.

Yeah it’s a fucking awful feeling, can relate. I loathe traditional dates especially.

It’s a meaningful difference for me personally.

My mind works by talking to itself, but it’s more like I’m the wordless overseer of that voice. There is a lesser maybe faux alter ego’s voice that’s employed to bounce ideas off of or used for introspection, to humble myself, conceptualization, etcetera, but it can only talk to myself even out loud. If there’s another person present they’re only talking to primary.

Where I differ from many minds like other self talkers here it seems is that I have full control over the two voices employed by my ego, and if I stop talking it’s silent in my skull. Since I also have Total Aphantasia it’s a true void in here besides my emotions and hind brain/instincts unless I’m using the voice(s). No real distinction between thinking in my head and speaking out loud.

The unconscious mind passes stuff it processes to the voices to think about. More nuance is far more paragraphs than worth, so I’ll leave it there.

I feel like it’d erode my abilities over time like others say, but primarily I just find autocorrect worse than useless for efficiency. I keep disabling it every time I try on new devices.

They’re activists using Satan as a cover to do activist work pushing back on religious people and government from trampling their rights in the name of gods they don’t believe in. More of a US thing really. I wish they were more active in Canada, I’d join in on the fun.

Religious freedom is the mirror they hold up to those forcing biblical law on the rest of us.

They don’t actually worship Satan and I’m sure it’s majority atheist or atheistic religious members like some Buddhists.

Edit: a recent example is opening abortion clinics with clinic names that are insulting to specific anti choice politicians. They do a 'lil trolling.

Fridge ice machines always break first. Just don’t buy such a headache. Silicon ice cube trays are fine I don’t really get how the ice machine is all that much more convenient. You have to clean them too which IMO undoes the few seconds saved not filling an ice cube tray once a week. They can also jam with fused cubes, what a PITA!

That’s my baseline experience to some extent just existing here in this reality, and that it’s briefly. Always felt like that.

If it’s just longer update gaps that’s fine. The news last month was pretty doomer so I didn’t take it too seriously.

Word filters are built into Piefed as an alternative like I use for USA news/billionaire drama, or Voyager app for Lemmy. blahaj.zone it may be easiest to just instance block. You’ll still see their users, but the communities won’t show up anymore as I understand it.

Then go through the all the communities list and join more. Use the Subscribed feed more often instead of All.

I considered that risk before getting a Pixel 8 and it burns a little yeah. I’ll use it like every other phone that stops getting updates for a few more years in the worst case scenario, then move to FairPhone I guess.

One example is piefed unfortunately. Animated gifs as avatar or banner don’t animate currently as far as I can tell.

Took up Yoga and BJJ for physical activity. Volunteering with a charity a friend of a friend runs handy out seasonal survival supplies to homeless. Creative outlet next but I’m indecisive there so far.

My friend pool is recovering by going outside to the same places repeatedly, can confirm.
